Asia Argento is an Italian actress and film-maker who was born into a Roman-speaking family. She has taken on both careers. Her first film came out when she was just nine in the film of Sergio Citti's Sogni and Bisogni. in 1988. She played the role of lead in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo and was part of the ensemble cast for The Church which was which was directed by Michele Soavi. The following year, she was Nanni Moretti's (also directed) daughter in Red Wood Pigeon. It was through Close Friends written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career took off, and she was able to transition from portraying very young girls into greater maturity, and more complicated roles. It was well received during the Cannes International Film Festival. Trauma marks her first work together with Dario Argento. Daria is the daughter of Argento and plays an orexiac woman who seeks out the murderer of her parents.
