The league was launched in May of 2012. Garena began its Garena Premier League (GPL) which is a six-month online professional gaming league that has more than 100 matches being played. GPL's inaugural season features six teams comprised of professional League of Legends players. The teams are made up of some of the most talented players in their respective countries. GPL matches are recorded and streamed on the internet with commentary. The games are available to fans on the official website. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams that are new to Taiwan as well as Vietnam adding the amount of teams up to eight. Teams include: AHQ (Asia), Saigon Fantastic Five (Saigon Jokers), Bangkok Titans (Bangkok) Kualalumpur Hunters(Kuala Lumpur) and Manila Eagles(Manila), Taipei Assassinsand Singapore Sentinels. In November 2014, the Garena E-Sports Stadium, which is a dedicated venue for esports has opened at Neihu District, Taipei. The studio opened in November 2014 at the opening of the League of Legends Masters Series. It's the top LoL Taiwanese, Hong Kongese, and Macau LoL League, which spun off from the GPL. Garena started with the Iron Solari League in January 2015. It's a League of Legends women's tournament held in the Philippines. This is a regular event which is played in the second part of each month. This event is intended to increase participation for underrepresented groups, and it's accessible to all who identify as a female. Garena organizes offline events for people who are looking to connect and meet. It is the case with events like the annual Garena Carnival held in Singapore and Malaysia. Gerina Gerina Gerina
